Self-Service Business Intelligence: all users

Micro Data

Users access live micro data. All the variables are available to create any table, chart, or map they require, however certain restrictions on use (business or confidentiality rules) may be imposed on results.

Aggregated Data (Cubes)

Users access, via a graphical interface, the data they need to create their own custom tables, charts, and maps from aggregated data (cubes). The advantage of cubes is that the user cannot access sensitive micro data. Cube data is also easier to understand because the number of dimensions and details within a dimension is limited.

Self-Service Visualizations: Consumers

Guided Reports

Users are guided to make a selection from a pre-defined set of parameters, after which they are presented with a complete report as a table, map, and/or graph.

Interactive Visualizations

Users select their subject of interest, then interact with the data via a visualization method, for example table, map, graph, or dashboard, to explore the data within set limits.
