Delegation from National Bureau of Statistics of China

November 14, 2008

Space-Time Research was pleased to welcome a delegation of over 20 staff from the National Bureau of Statistics and regional statisticians from the Peoples Republic of China to STR’s Melbourne office.

In an information sharing session, Deputy Director General of the Institute of National Bureau of Statistics, Mr Jun Kang, delivered a presentation on the key projects and issues affecting the NBS and John Ellenberger, Vice President Statistical Solutions at STR demonstrated the tabulation and dissemination capabilities of SuperSTAR. STR partner, George Rennie from O.R. Systems, also delivered a presentation on their mathematical and statistical services.

A great deal was learned by both sides on the day and STR looks forward to a growing relationship with the Chinese statistical authorities.
